Be Part of Our Life-Saving Mission
SOS MEDITERRANEE is a maritime and humanitarian organization with offices in France, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland. To support our work saving lives in the Mediterranean Sea, we seek dedicated individuals who share the organization’s core values: humanity, transparency, independence, civic commitment, non-discrimination, and solidarity.
Volunteer with SOS MEDITERRANEE
Volunteers are the heart of SOS MEDITERRANEE, with more than 1,000 across France alone. Your time, diverse skills, and dedication help enormously to support our operations at sea and on land.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SOS MEDITERRANEE. Our volunteers play crucial roles in:
- Raising public awareness about the treacherous migration situation in and around the Mediterranean
- Organizing and supporting community events such as concerts, film screenings, and author talks
- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Supporting fundraising initiatives
- Helping with communications and advocacy
Whether you can commit to a few hours a week or are available to staff some events, your time and effort make our rescue operations at sea possible.
We are a very small team and are unable to respond to all requests. Please note that we are unable to take volunteers on our ship. This includes medical staff. We are not currently recruiting for medical positions on board the Ocean Viking, as we only have a few slots available each year. All positions on board the ship are paid. When new opportunities arise, they will be posted on this page. We encourage you to check it regularly for any updates. Thank you again for your support.
