On April 22, the Ocean Viking leaves the port of Syracuse, Sicily.

On April 24, the Ocean Viking rescues 70 people from a rubber boat in distress in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On April 25, the Ocean Viking rescues 94 people from a rubber boat in distress in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region following an alert from Alarm PhoneAfter the rescue, survivors reported twelve people missing after having fallen overboard few hours following their departure from the coast.

On April 26, the Ocean Viking rescues by night 72 people from a rubber boat in distress in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region following an alert from Alarm Phone.

On April 27, the Ocean Viking rescues 59 people from a black rubber boat in distress in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On May 3, a patient is medically evacuated from Ocean Viking onto an Italian Coast guard vessel.

On May 4, ITMRCC calls Ocean Viking with instructions to proceed to Pozzallo, Sicily, to disembark 294 remaining survivors.

On May 5, the disembarkation process starts.

On May 6, the 2-day disembarkation process is complete. All 294 survivors have disembarked.

11:59 Ocean Viking informs via email JRCC Tripoli that she is proceeding towards the distress position. No reply.

The rubber boat is unseaworthy, overcrowded, with about 60 people on board, no lifejackets, all exposed to the elements. Sponsons are partially deflated.
