On October 30, Ocean Viking leaves the port of Augusta.

On November 2, during the night the Ocean Viking rescues 45 people from a wooden boat in distress in International waters in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On November 2, in the afternoon the Ocean Viking is engaged in a second operation: 94 people are rescued from an overcrowded rubber boat in distress in International waters in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On November 3, Ocean Viking rescues 105 people from an overcrowded wooden boat in distress in International waters in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On November 4, Ocean Viking rescues 69 people from an overcrowded wooden boat in distress in International waters in the Libyan Search and Rescue Region.

On November 6, two patients and four relatives are evacuated from the Ocean Viking by the Italian Coastguard.

On November 7, one patient and one relative are evacuated from the Ocean Viking by the Italian Coastguard.

On November 10, the Ocean Viking receives instructions to disembark the remaining 306 survivors in Augusta, Sicily.

On November 12, the disembarkation of 306 survivors from the Ocean Viking is complete.

October 26, 2021

15:15 Ocean Viking leaves the port of Naples, Italy.

Ocean Viking stops in position 40 18.6’N 014 10.8’E to perform drills at sea. RHIBs Easy 1, Easy 2 and Easy 3 are launched.

22:00 All RHIBs recovered. Training complete. Ocean Viking resumes navigation.

14:05 Ocean Viking leaves the port of Augusta, Sicily.

At 1930 in position 36°28,44N 015°02,62E, Ocean Viking stops to conduct drills at sea. RHIB Easy 1 is launched.

At 19:52 in position 36°28,18N 015°02,32E, Ocean Viking recovers RHIB Easy 1 and resumes navigation.

October 31, 2021

At 08.02, Ocean Viking stops in position 36°31’6N 013°02’4E to conduct drills at sea.

At 11.30, at position 36°31’7N 013°03’6E Ocean Viking completes drills, recovers three RHIBs and resumes navigation.

November 2, 2021

In position 33°15’9 N 014°15’9 E, a wooden boat in distress is spotted in proximity of the Ocean Viking from the aft deck of the ship. Persons on board the boat in distress are yelling for help.

While in position 33 23’9N 013 41’7E, Ocean Viking receives an alert to a distress case at a distance of approximately 12 NM.

11:48 Ocean Viking calls LYJRCC on two different numbers. No answer.
11:55 Ocean Viking emails LYJRCC to inform of our intention to assess the situation of the reported distress case.
